Taste and sounds of Jaffna for a good cause
View(s):A new primary school building is being constructed at Chundikuli Girls’ College to be named after one of their past principals, G.E.S Chelliah. Chundikuli, a leading Christian girls’ school has been serving the students of Jaffna for more than 120 years. Due to the influx of war affected students, the school is faced with the need for infrastructure expansion.
In order to raise funds for this purpose, the Past Pupils’ Association of Chundikuli Girls’ College (Colombo Branch) is organizing ‘An Evening of Scrumptious Jaffna Cuisine and Entertainment’ on June 9 from 6.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lighthouse at the ‘Lakshman Kadirgarmar Institute’, No. 24, Horton Place, Colombo 7.
The similar event held in 2017 was greatly appreciated and on popular request the PPA has decided to repeat it this year as well.
Tickets priced at Rs. 2,500 per head are available with Sarojana: 0777405880, Rubini: 0777115389 and Shirley: 0770031702.
The students of Chundikuli Girls’ College will entertain the audience with traditional folk dances among other cultural entertainments.
The PPA appeals to old girls and well-wishers to come and enjoy the evening with typical Jaffna food and entertainment and support this worthy cause.
