Trinity continued their late resurgence by getting the better of a tough Wesley side by 21 points (3 goals) to 11 (a try and 2 penalties) at Palekelle last evening.

Strangely it was Wesley who led 8-7 at the break. But Trinity came back strongly to add 14 points while conceding just three.

Flyhalf Akitha Sakalasuriya touched down once and made two conversions in an impressive display. Centre Warren Weerakoon and hooker Niranjan Vitharana were the other try scorers. Munindu Jayasundera put over the final conversion.

Wesley’s productive flanker Aaquib Thahir scored the solitary try for the losers. Full back Mursheed Zubair converted the penalties.

Referee: Priya Suranga
