Cinnamon Life will be hosting Nigella Lawson – internationally renowned TV cook and food writer who has taken the culinary world by storm for over 20 years with her unmatched passion for home cooking for a series of culinary events in Sri Lanka, from June 21 – 23.
One of the highlights of her visit will be the ’Mystery Box Challenge’, which will be held on June 23, by the Lake, at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. The ‘Mystery Box Challenge’ will be a perfect opportunity for aspiring Sri Lankan home cooks to showcase their culinary skills to the British celebrity cook.
The challenge will be launched on Cinnamon Life’s Facebook page, where interested contestants can enter via an online video, as per the criteria specified on the Facebook page. Once the entries are received, 8 contestants will be shortlisted to participate in the main event held at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.
At the ‘Mystery Box Challenge’, the shortlisted contestants, will have to impress the celebrity cook and two other chefs at Cinnamon Lakeside, with their cooking skills, where they will be presented with mystery ingredients, in a box, which will be revealed at the time of the competition. The contestants then must create their own dish with the mystery ingredients on a live platform to impress her and win the challenge.
The winners will be selected by Nigella, based on technique, flavour and presentation, with the assistance of two chefs from Cinnamon. The winners will thereafter be presented with gifts and signed copies of her latest book ‘At My Table’ with a photo opportunity.
Tickets to see the Sri Lankan contestants in action with Nigella at the ‘Mystery Box Challenge’ held at Cinnamon Lakeside will also be available for interested gourmands and food-lovers.
