Matale Christ Church skipper Maneesha Rukshan slammed a quick fire 127 off 98 balls to steer his side to a close four runs victory over Dharmaraja College Kandy in their SLSCA U/15 division 2 inter school opening cricket fixture played in Kandy.
Batting first Dharmaraja made 240/9 in 55 overs with K. Wijerathna (57) and S. Bandara (53) contributing two half ‘tons’ to which Christ Church replied with 244/8 in 44.2 overs. Maneesha Rukshan top scored with 127. His knock included 18 fours and 3 sixes and he also put on a 167 runs partnership with K.D. Jayarathna for the 5th wicket.
