Shalindra Perera does MAS active proud
View(s):Shalindra Perera of MAS Active was adjudged the Man of the Tournament of the MCA ‘E’ Division cricket tournament concluded last weekend.
This former Josephian cricketer showed a lot of promise in cricket as an allrounder. In the 2009 Joe-Pete big encounter Perera playing under Shamira Weerasinghe was involved in an unbeaten 104 stand for the 5th wicket with Hareen Silva which is the 2nd best 5th wicket partnership of the college.
Representing MAS Active in the mercantile cricket tournament elegant and stylist left handed top order batsman dominated his cricketing skills by scoring 312 runs inclusive of a century and two half tons. His best was an unbeaten 117 against Melwire Rolling. Perera as a useful right arm off spinner had captured 7 wickets and had taken seven catches which performance enabled him to be award the Man of the Tournament.
Perera had been the highest run-getter for his establishment for three consecutive years with an average of 62.5. including three masterly compiled centuries.
