Nugera and Panchali claim Time Trial events

Dan Nugera and Saruni Panchali both from Gampaha District clinched the Men’s Elite and the Women’s Elite events respectively at the National Cycling Championships Time Trial worked off through the Marine Drive, Colombo yesterday.
Nugera put up a splendid performance as he finished the race with an average speed of 40.89km while Panchali completed the course with an average speed of 34.81km.
Meanwhile, Hasitha Dulanjana of Galle District took the Junior Men’s 20km event while maintaining an average speed of 38.08km.
Anne Shenali Perera of Gampaha District won the Junior Women’s 10km event with an average speed of 32.97km.
In addition, Avishka Madonza of Kalutara District won the Men’s Under-23 20km race with an average speed of 40.87km.
