Rahul’s heroics in vain as SIS snatch last over thriller
View(s):Wicketkeeper batsman Rahul Chigullapalli hit a sparkling century but could not prevent the British School in Colombo (BSC) from going down to Stafford International School (SIS) by 2 wickets in their inaugural Limited Overs cricket encounter worked off at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Rahul smashed a 110-ball 148 inclusive of half dozen of sixes and 22 boundaries as the BSC reached 210 from 35 overs after they were put into bat.
However, SIS reached their target in the last over with two wickets to spare following useful contributions from Sampras de Silva (25), Krisha Sriram (37) and Avesh Polonnowita.
Rahul had the distinction of winning three special awards as he was named Best Fielder, Best Batsman and also shared the Man-of-the-Match award along with Avesh Polonnowita.
