Four cueists record second successive wins

The seventh day’s proceedings of the Six Red Ball Snooker Championship played at the AAC and The Club billiards table saw four cueists Zahil Rahman of MICH, John May of YMBA, S.M. Shaharwardi of MSC and W.M.P. Pushpakumara of ICSC winning their matches to record their second successive win of the tournament.
The matches played in the afternoon session saw Zahil overcoming P.B.S. Bandara of CEB by two frames to nil while John got the better of H.K.T. Sampath of Army who earlier in the day won his first match, by two frames to one and Pushpakumara securing a win against W.C.D. Ruwanda of Army.
In the evening saw veteran Shaharwardi who is in his 80’s gaining an easy win against his younger opponent M.H.A. Azeez of POP while Pushpakumara chalked up his second win of the day when he defeated S.A.D. Rohana of Police.
The other cueists to come out victorious were B.M.K. Bandara (Army), W.M. Pushpakumara (ICSC), S.A.D. Rohana (Police), A.V.D. Amaratunga (Police), Ashiq Hussain (MSC), R.A.K. Bandara (Army) and A. Balakrishnan (AAC) who had fluctuated fortunes. The tournament will be continued today.
