‘Guitar and Folk Music Festival 2018’
View(s):The eighth consecutive guitar festival ‘Guitar and Folk Music Festival 2018’ will come alive from 18th July to 28th July 2018 in Sri Lanka.
Guitarists from all over the world will join the guitar wizards from Sri Lanka to rock the festival. They will be performing in six Universities, three cities and two workers Centres in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna. The Colombo concert will be held at the Russian Cultural Centre on 21st July.
Guitarists Yury-Likhachev and Anna-Likhacheva from Russia, Aditya Gandhi from India, Shahyd Legacy from Palestine and a guitarist from The Maldives will perform along with local guitarists at the Colombo Concert.
The Festival will be held at the Free Trade Zone Hall in Katunayake on 22nd July and at the Town Hall in Kaluthara on 23rd. It will be staged at the Kothalawala Defence Academy on 24th and at the University of Kelaniya on the 25th, and at the University of Peradeniya on the 26th. The Galle show will be held at the Galle Fort Hall on 28th July. All concerts will start at 5.00pm.
Worksshops will be held at Alliance Française de Colombo on the 21st from 10.00am to 1.00pm and at the Indian Cultural Centre from 9.00am to 12.00 noon and on the 22nd July.
