3 New Additional Solicitors General appointed President’s Counsel
Ayesha Jinasena, Parinda Ranasinghe and Viraj Dayaratne who were recently appointed Additional Solicitor Generals (ASG), will take their oaths as President’s Counsel before Chief Justice Priyasath Dep, on Tuesday.
ASG Ms Jinasena joined the Attorney General’s (AG) Department in 1992, is an authority on Intellectual Property Law, with an LLM from London University, and is an old girl of St. Paul’s Milagiriya.
Parinda Ranasinghe and Viraj Dayaratne joined the AG’s Department in 1993.
ASG Ranasinghe is an authority on the Law of the Sea, with an LLM from National University, Singapore, and is an old boy of Royal College, Colombo. His father A.K. Parinda Ranasinghe was a former Chief Justice.
ASG Dayaratne, an old boy of S.Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, has a BA from the University of Colombo. He specializes in International Trade Law, with an LLM from Wales University, UK.
