SLAF (Men), Samudradevi BV (Women) Doubles Winners

Sri Lanka Air Force pair Dineth Dulakshan and Avon Wickremasinghe won the Men’s Doubles championship, defeating Kavinda Pethum and Bawantha Pansilu of St. John’s College, Nugegoda, 2-1, while Samudradevi BV’s Dilsha Prasadini and Vindy Dilanya beat Yeshani Kaushalya and Deshani Kaushalya of Mahamaya BV, Nugegoda, 2-0 to clinch the Women’s Doubles event at the Midyear Novices Carrom Championship 2018, at the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) Headquarters, Kohuwala.
The tournament was conducted in 4 categories- Men’s and Women’s Singles and Men’s and Women’s Doubles, with over 350 competitors islandwide competing.
Nalin Jayashantha and Dushyantha Nadeeshan of Sri Lanka Army (1/0) and Masha Nirmani and Nethma Sewmini from Mahamaya BV, Nugegoda, (1/0) secured third places in the Men’s and Women’s Doubles respectively.
Preliminary Rounds of Men’s and Women’s Singles commenced yesterday and the Final Rounds will be held on July 28, 29.
