KOICA Scholarships for 9 Govt. Officers
View(s):The orientation programme for participants at this years’ Master’s Degree scholarship programme of the Korea International Corporation Agency (KOICA), was held last week at the KOICA, with the congratulatory speech by KOICA Country Director Lee Dong Ku inaugurating it.
At the orientation programme participants were made aware of KOICA and its projects in Sri Lanka, and about life in Korea. Since the inception of this Scholarship programme in 2005, 84 government officers from Sri Lanka have received their Master’s Degrees through this programme.
This year, 9 Officers were awarded Scholarships for 8 Courses such as Agricultural Production, Global Information Communication Technology Policy, Community Development, Capacity Development of Gender Equality Leadership, Water Resources Management, Atmospheric Environment & Regulation Management for Economic Development, which will be conducted at renowned institutions in Korea.
KOICA has been cooperating with the Sri Lanka Government since 1991, to enhance Economic development between the two countries. One of the important means of cooperation has been providing Capacity Building programmes to nurture future leaders of Sri Lanka, who can contribute to the Socio-Economic development of the country.
