View(s):My hobby
My hobby is reading. Reading is a wonderful hobby. Reading is the basic tool for education. By reading, we acquire ideas and information. Reading is a healthy habit. There are books on History, Science, Geography, Religion etc. There are many things for us to read in books, novels, magazines and newspapers. Authors have written many short stories and novels.
Many schools have libraries. If there are libraries in the school, it is good as the children can read books from the library and gain knowledge and ‘Knowledge is Power’. Nowadays children, like to watch television and play computer games which are results from technology. It is not a very healthy habit.
Reading helps to release our stress and loneliness. When we read books, novels, magazines and newspapers we will also be able to write well. There is a saying that “Reading makes a full man”. Reading is a good and important hobby.

Pollution must stop
There are three forms of pollution – air pollution, water pollution and soil or environmental pollution.
Poisonous gases from vehicles, smoke from factories and burning forests pollutes the air.
It is harmful to both man and animal. Throwing garbage everywhere leads to environmental pollution. Some people who grow food crops and other plants use pesticides. But the use of too much pesticide can cause soil and water pollution. Waste from factories and waste water from houses flow into rivers. People pollute waterways by washing empty chemical containers in rivers and throwing garbage. When rivers are polluted, fish and other animals die.
We must try to stop all forms of pollution.
If not, everyone will fall ill or die soon.

Animals have rights
Like us humans, animals too have the right to live free. As living creatures, they too should live a happy life. Animals kept in cages and zoos should be given their freedom. Keeping animals in a cage is sinful.
Animals belong to a certain environment and it is there that they should be given to live free. But many animals are kept in cages in zoos for man’s entertainment and income. There are pet shops where birds, cats and dogs are caged. Just imagine how it would feel if you are caged and not given freedom? How would it be if you are controlled by someone all your life? Maybe in some places animals are looked after, well-cared for and shown love. But still animals belong to another environment. They would prefer to live there. We must not disturb their lifestyle.
I think that animals should be given freedom to live their lives. People have no right to take over their lives.

Night Robbers
Three filthy hedgehogs
One pink, one blue, one purple
Come in the night
And hunt in the larder
They rattle so much
And I wake up
I go to see
So they do a dance
When they dance
I go to sleep
Thinking they are cute
So no wonder
I lose my food

The rainy day
One Saturday morning it started to rain. The sky looked cloudy and grey. There was a heavy blowing. There was thunder and lightning too.
It rained from morning to night. The rainwater floated like a river in the garden. People went rushing for shelter and birds flew to their nests. There was no electricity.
The roads were flooded and even vehicles couldn’t budge an inch. They looked more like boats floating in the water. Some branches from huge trees were broken. Some plants were even uprooted. Roots were blown away and lay strewn on the road.
Since we could not go out to play, my sister and I stayed at home and sailed paper boats to pass the time.

Blue parrots
I had been living in Oman. There were many birds. I love blue parrots because they are blue in colour. When we train them, they do whatever we say.
If I go to Brazil I want to explore birds. And I would like to go to Rio.
I feel Rio is a very beautiful place for birds to live. The birds also can eat Brazil nuts. If I have a parrot I will call it Juwel.
