About 355,326 Grade 5 students sit for Scholarship exams

Today, about 355,326 Grade 5 students will sit for their Scholarship exams at 3,050 centres islandwide. Meanwhile, the Examinations Department is making arrangements to hold the 2018 GCE Advanced Level Examination from August 6 to September 13.

Last week all Sinhala and Tamil schools, and some Muslim schools to be used as Exam Centres, closed on August 3, the Ministry of Education (MoE) said.
The schools which closed on August 3 will re-open on 3 September 3. The Teacher-Training Colleges also ended their academic activities for their 2nd term.
Other Muslim schools will close on August 17 and re-open for their 3rd term on August 27, the MoE said. - CC
