Shashthrananda win by four wickets
An unbeaten 65 off 63 balls with ten hits to the ropes by Isuru Chamara and 52 runs off 81 balls with nine boundaries by skipper Haritha Niranjan helped Shashthrananda College Dehiwala overcome Lyceum College Gampaha by four wicket in the second round of the schools under 17 division III cricket tournament.
The match was played at the S de S Jayasinghe College ground.
Lyceum Gampaha electing to bat first were dismissed for 199 runs. Skipper Hirusha Jayasooriya hit 15 boundaries to score 79 off 101 balls. Jayasooriya together with Shenal Jayasinghe shared a 107 run partnership for the third wicket. Chamika Naishan scored 31 off 35 balls with half a dozen boundaries and a six. Nadeepa Lakshitha captured four wickets.
Although Shashthrananda lost their first wicket in the first ball of the innings half tons by skipper Haritha and wicket keeper Isuru Chamara saw them win the game with four wickets in hand and 25 balls to spare.
Senitha Ranathunga and Isuru Abeyrathne captured two wickets each.
