My dream
When I look at the bright sky.
I see a glowing star. I thought it was a lump of glitter. So, I opened my window and saw the glowing star. I was so thrilled to see the glowing star.

My school
My school is Zahira College, Colombo. It is situated in Maradana. It was started on August 22, 1892. There are more than 5000 students in our school. The motto of our school is ‘Alhamdulillah’.Our school has about 10 buildings. The present principal of our school is Mr. Trizvy Marikkar.
We, the students of Zahira College have been gifted with a computer lab, science, lab and a library. Our school teachers work hard to help the students achieve their goals and the students also work hard to give a good name to the school.
Our school has developed more and more.
I wish that it would continue and I am proud to be a Zahirian!

Imagine living in 2100
A new century will dawn for the
auto-operated immortals in 2100.
The 22nd Century, where people do not
die or walk, will be a big technical world.
If there aren’t trees, there will not be oxygen. Then how will these humans live? It is a very simple answer, the machinery which we create now, will provide this in the future.
People will be eating food prepared by artificial intelligence. They will be getting served by a robot. They will be fed by a robot. Food may even be digested by a robot.
Will these things make life hard for humans? Not at all! In fact they will not know what is happening to them. Machines are just the right choice for the future.
If a person gets ill or dies, he will go through a glass cubicle and get cured. Medicines will not be necessary in categories as it will be a single process.
Technology will be unbelievable and happen and spread all over the world with new inventions. People will always be in portable, moving seats for their entire life. They will talk to the person beside them through a digital screen. Their clothes will be auto-changed. The younger generation will not need to be educated because they will be installed with a memory chip into the child’s brain and he will think everything through it.
As the years go by and the environment changes, do not think the future is always ahead of us. So work hard to push all negatives away for a better life in 2100.

The Sun
The Sun is very big. The Sun is round.
The Sun is very hot. Every morning the Sun rises in the east and brings us a new day. Every evening the Sun sets in the west and brings us the night.

The Big Bad Wolf
As we all know, the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ is an enormous book sale, where books are sold at a discount between fifty and eighty percent. It is a great opportunity for book lovers to buy many books to read. Everything is so cheap. I went there three times and bought about 150 books.
In Sri Lanka, we find books to be sold at a high price. All books are over thousand rupees. But in the Big Bad Wolf book sale, huge books are sold at a very low price and it is totally worth it. And we find all kinds of books there; novels, biographies, pop-up books, drawing books, cookery books, comics, movie-making books and many more. And there are many unique books too. I found a book about chocolates and the book itself smelled like chocolate! Impressive isn’t it?
This is the second time that this major book sale arrived in Sri Lanka. I hope that this massive book sale will arrive annually in Sri Lanka,
so that book lovers from all over
Sri Lanka can buy plenty of books.

The troubles we face
From an overseas reader
A home is heavily guarded.
The safety of the house departed.
Lights are on and into bed,
No time to be a sleepy-head.
Lock the door, lock the gate,
The scary things happen when it is late.
Someone near steals through the night,
Planning to stir another fright.
Pluck one here, pluck one there,
Leaving things lost everywhere.
Bananas, coconuts, radios too,
What’s next, will it be me or you?
There is no end to their power,
Sneaky thieves thrive by the hour.
Nothing changes anywhere,
The world lies waiting for a scare.
Respected, kind, loved homes too,
Have been pushed into the blue.
Working hard to hold down the fort,
So much so it has become a sport.
When will it finally end,
Or will it soon become a trend?
