Poramadulla Central register two outright wins
Poramadulla Central College Rikillagaskada registered two outright wins when they beat Deerananda MV Pilimatalawa Kandy by an innings and 15 runs and then Lumbini Royal MV Kandy by an innings and 2 runs in their SLSCA Under-15 Division III Inter-School second round cricket fixtures played last week at Poramadulla Central ground.
The most successful bowler of the side so far, right arm leg spinner Gayan Sandeepa with a match bag of 10 wickets for 39 runs guided Poramadulla Central to beat Deerananda MV outright at Poramadulla Central ground.
Made to bat first Deerananda MV were bowled out for 60 runs in 34 overs with Gayan Sandeepa returning top figures 4/09 runs. Poramadulla Central in their turn declared their innings 187/2 in 32 overs with Visitha Abeybandara slamming an unbeaten 64 and Dilan Premawansa contributing 50 runs.
Deerananda MV in their second essay too failed to impress once again and were all out for 112 runs in 30.2 overs. Gayan Sandeepa continued his bowling beat to claim another 6 wickets for 30 runs to end up with a math bag of 10 wickets for 39 runs. He was supported by S. Kuruppuarachchi taking 2 wickts for 20 runs.
Poramadulla Central went on to beat Lumbini Royal MV Kandy outright by an innings and two runs at the same venue.
Having bowled out Lumbini Royal MV for 33 runs in 15.3 overs Poramadulla Central declared their innings at 149/5 wickets in 26 overs with Visitha Abeybandara once again making a top score of 77. Lumbini Royal were 114 all out in their second innings with Gayan Sandeepa doing the damage to claim 5 wickets for 31 runs.
