Perahera elephant damages police vehicle
View(s):An elephant participating in the Pattini Devale section of the Kandy Esala Perahera damaged a Police vehicle when the elephant made a sudden U-turn. This happened towards the end of the Perahera when the elephant carrying the Devale emblems had attacked a flanking elephant, the Abeyarama elephant from Matara. The runaway elephants were brought under control and the elephant carrying the Devale emblems was escorted back to the Pattini Devale.
