Prof. Hasbullah passes away
View(s):Prof. S. H. Hasbullah, prominent civic rights activist and member of the Provincial Councils Delimitation Commission, passed away yesterday.
He was a retired senior geography lecturer at the University of Peradeniya and a Council Member of the University of Jaffna.
He obtained his doctorate from the Victoria University in Canada. He was a past pupil of Erukkalampiddy Central College.
Prof. Hasbullah worked tirelessly to rehabilitate the displaced people, especially the Northern Muslims who were evicted by the LTTE from their villages during the separatist war.
His funeral was held yesterday in Mannar.
