Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development, Vocational Training & Kandyan Heritage Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama has called upon all in the country to study the operation of government institutions in all sectors and propose improvements.

As Chief Guest, he was speaking at the inauguration of the International Conference on Business Innovation, organised by NSBM, the Green University, this week.
The objective of his call was to eliminate inefficiency, waste and corruption and thus improve their performance, so that, the taxpayers will get their money’s worth, and the country transformed into a modern, forward looking one.

Earlier in his speech, the Minister, while thanking NSBM for organizing the conference, complimented it as, perhaps the best Business School in the country, at present. The Minister pointed out that, there is fierce competition in the field of Business Schools, and a great effort is needed to stay ahead.

Dr. Amunugama insisted that Business Schools must impart the latest and best knowledge available to their students, which required the continuous sifting of the creation of new knowledge evolving all the time, worldwide.

The Minister referring to the phenomenon of ‘Information Overload’, said it is the duty of all Educational institutions, including Business schools, to have systems to sift through this continuous stream of new knowledge, separating the essential from the non essential, and transfer the best to their students in the teaching-learning process.

He said that students must be made partners in this process, to achieve the best results.
