Holy Cross Gampaha display their shuttle prowess
View(s):Holy Cross College, Gampaha exhibited their prowess at the Gampaha Zonal Badminton Tournament in Junior National Badminton Championship 2018. The event was organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association and concluded at the Indoor Stadiums of Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya and Holy Cross College, Gampaha.
Shuttlers from the Gampaha schools dominated the tournament by winning seven Individual Championships and finishing runners-up in three events.
Holy Cross badminton team is in the forefront of schools badminton over the years and they have emerged champions in various age groups. It is a pride for the schools as twenty five of its players were selected to compete in the All Island tournament.
Under the watchful guidance of veteran coach Mahesha Ekanayake and assisted by Prasanna Karunaratne these lasses have shown immense improvements over the years.
