Stage-crashing fan causes chaos at Beyoncé and Jay-Z Concert
View(s):Beyonce and her husband Jay Z, had the shock of their lives when a fan breached security and charged towards them during a concert in Atlanta, Georgia on August 25. The couple were reported to be performing the last song when the fan invaded the stage. He was quickly taken down.
Meanwhile the couple are offering $1.1 million in scholarships to help 11 exceptional students continue their education. The announcement made on 26th August, will help the students through the 2018/19 academic year in university.
The siblings of the late singer Prince have initiated legal action against the doctor who prescribed pain killing pills to the musician. Action was filed for unspecified damages exceeding $50,000 last week against Dr. Michael Schulenberg in the Minnesota Hennepin County District court. Prince had been taking pain killers for many years as he was suffering with a hip issue. He died after taking an accidental overdose of fentanyl in April 2016. The late singer’s family claims the doctor failed to treat him for his addiction.
Liam Payne released an EP called ‘First Time’ on August 24. The release means the One Direction member has delayed the release of his debut solo album which is being attributed to the breakdown of the relationship with Cheryl Tweed in July. The four track EP gives a hint into Liam’s life with Cheryl with whom he shares a 17 month old son. Previously he had released five singles.
Pop star Taylor Swift is making mega bucks as the she has broken her own record for the highest grossing US tour by a female artist. As she continues with her Reputation tour, she has made $191.1 million in the US alone overtaking the $181.5 million mark she set during her 1989 tour in 2015. Swift’s US earnings have come from 27 sold concerts, each raking in $7 million according the media reports from the US. As her Reputation tour is still making the global rounds, her earning may exceed the record set by Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour of 2008/2009.
George Ezra held firmly to the UK singles No: 1 spot with his hit song ‘Shotgun’ which had 7 million streams in the last week. The song has held the singles crown for four weeks.
Calvin Harris & Sam Smith debuted on the UK singles chart at No: 4 with ‘Promises’. The house track is a follow up to Calvin’s last single ‘One Kiss’ Dua Lipa, which ended up the No:1 song for eight weeks. It’s the first time DJ/producer and artist have collaborated with each other. At this moment ‘Promise’ is a standalone single.
Ariana Grande’s official single ‘God Is A Woman’ has returned to the UK top 10 singles chart at 6 rising from 12. When it was released six weeks ago, the song debuted on the chart at No: 4. Ariana also has the track ‘Breathin’ on the UK chart as a new entry at No: 8. ‘Breathin’ is not an official single, but since her album ‘Sweetener’ is out Ariana’s fans have gone to town, downloading tracks.
