With toe-tapping songs and more Clifford did it his way
View(s):Clifford Richards was back at the Bishops College auditorium on Sunday August 12 to give another toe-tapping performance.
From old favourites such as Quando Quando, to Baby When I Met You there was Peace On Earth to the Sinhala catchy number Magey Nona Mata Harima Adarei and much more, Cliff kept the audience entertained not just with his singing and saxophone playing, but also with his share of jokes.
Clifford’s daughter Jacintha gave a powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s I will always love you, while his little son Alven stole the hearts of the audience with Country Roads.
Cliff’s performance with former beauty queen Stephanie Siriwardene, of Rukshan Perera’s original, Short and Sweet, drew its share of laughter with obvious connotations to who was sweet and who was short!
For audience members from Kandy (Cliff’s hometown) there was a touch of yesteryear as he invited Michael Sansoni of Hezonite fame to the stage.
The El Latino dancers and Channa Upuli dancers added colour to the evening’s performance while well known Flame with their usual flair was the backup group.
