Not limited to conquering the finance world alone
The Students Society of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) recently organised a Sports Day – a two-day sporting carnival held to show the world that CIMA is not limited to just conquering the finance world but exploring and succeeding in the sporting arena too.
CIMA Sports day is one of the largest and most festive events in the CIMA Students’ Society’s calendar, attracting more than 1000 participants each year. This includes CIMA students, exam-complete students, ACMAs and employees representing various corporate organisations. With many of the institutions battling it out for the championship title and corporate heating up the playing field, this year’s theme; the head – the heart – the hustle, aptly encapsulates the atmosphere of the annual action-packed event. The two-day event had exciting heated battles of basketball matches, swimming tournament, cricket, netball, rugby and futsal. The swimming tournament was a new venture added on especially for 2018 and was completed successfully. The second leg included, not only sport, but also a festive carnival with a variety of food stalls and a mini treasure hunt namely ‘Urban Challenge’.
CIMA Sports Day was held for its 22nd iteration in 2018 and was supported by NoLimit – Sri Lanka’s biggest fashion chain as the strategic partner for the 4th consecutive year. Business Management School (BMS) stepped in as the education partner, along with photography, videography and communications partner – Vevra and The Comms Outlet respectively.
