Colombo Leasing Islamic Finance win Championship

Commercial Leasing Islamic Finance (CLIF) emerged champions at the 5th annual Sri Lanka Islamic Banking & Finance Industry Cricket 6s 2018 to win the Adl Capital Challenge Trophy, defeating Amana Bank in a close finish at the NCC Grounds last weekend. Trade First and Amana Takaful clinched the ‘Plate’ and ‘Bowl’ categories, respectively.
In this year’s annual event, 17 teams competed, which was not only for members of the Alternate Finance Institutions, but also for clients of these entities. It was also a day of fellowship not just for the participants, but also included their families.
Best Bowler was Shakib from Amana Bank for his spell of 6/38, including a hat trick. CLIF swept the other categories, including Best Batsman, Sangeeth for his 73 runs with 3 innings unbeaten, and star performer, Lakmal grabbing both, Man of the Final for his 33 not out and an incredible bowling spell of 2/10, and Man of the Tournament for his all-round performance of 80 runs, with 3 unbeaten, and bowling figures of 3/33.
Adl Capital were the Main Sponsors of the event, with Dunlop as the Sporting Partner and Ramada Colombo Hotel, the Hospitality Partner.
