Hiru Golden Film Awards to recognise cinema talents
View(s):In order to recognise the talents and popularity of cinematic creations screened in 2016 and 2017, Hiru Golden Film Awards is scheduled to be held on October 27 at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium.
Nearly 50 features film and 150 short films are to compete for about 40 awards given to the best art house and popular films. The popular awards are to be decided with people’s choice taken via SMS, social media. Entries have been called to submit short films for the competition.
Started in 2014 as an annual film award, a special feature of this year’s festival is that popular Bollywood stars Govinda, Juhi Chawla, Saif Ali Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Sidharth Malhotra and Zareen Khan are to participate as special guests of the film awards.
