Guam overcame Sri Lanka 4-2 in the AFC Under 16 Women’s Championships Group ‘A’ qualifying round at Longdon Place yesterday.

Five countries including, Sri Lanka, China, Jordan, Uzbekistan and Guam are taking part in this tournament.

Thirty teams from across Asia will vie for eight spots in Round-2 of the Qualifiers, where the teams will then be divided into two groups of four teams, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the finals in 2019.

The final competition will be worked off in Thailand.

The first half of the Guam vs Sri Lanka game ended with Guam leading the first half 2-1. The first goal for Guam was scored by Jada Elise Han in the tenth minute. The second goal was netted in by Jadyn Riley in the 19th minute.

Sri Lanka’s first goal was scored by R. Kirushanthini in the 45+1 minute.

In the second half Jadyn Riley his second goal in the 54th minute. The other goal was netted in by J. Bernadette in the 65th minute.

Sri Lanka’ second goal was scored by R. Kirushanthini in the 67th minute.

Prior to this the game between Uzbekistan and Jordan ended in a nil all draw.
