Sri Lanka wins first game against Hong Kong
Sri Lanka crushed Hong Kong by 3 sets to nil in the First Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup Tournament at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday.
The Asian Volleyball Confederation is conducting the tournament. This is the first time that a senior volleyball tournament is being held in Sri Lanka.
Eight teams are taking part in this tournament. They are: Iraq, Bangladesh, Mongolia, UAE (United Arab Emirates), Hong Kong, Malaysia , Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka had an easy game defeating Hong Kong by 3 sets to nil, the scores reading 25-15, 25-20 and 25-22.
Today Sri Lanka will play against Malaysia.
In other games played yesterday Iraq beat Bangladesh 3-2 (25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 25-21 and 9-15).
UAE beat Mongolia 3-1 (31-29, 25-22, 20-25 and 25-21).
