Annual walk to end Alzheimer’s
View(s):Be there on Saturday, September 29 as the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation (LAF) holds its annual Walk to end Alzheimer’s. Sun or rain, participants enthusiastically walk creating awareness of the disease, distributing leaflets along the way. Johann Peries who summited Mount Everest earlier this year will be amongst the walkers.
Cinnamon Grand’s Angsana Garden is where ‘walkers’ must gather at 8 a.m. Memorabilia and raffle tickets are available for sale at the venue. The Walk starts at 8.30 a.m. and goes along a 5 kilometre route through key roads in the Colpetty area with a Police escort. While Cinnamon Grand offers gracious hospitality, Pet Packaging provides complimentary bottles of water, Elephant House sponsors drinks, ice creams and refreshments, while Milo and Cargills await walkers at the end. Medi Calls is available for any emergency.
Walkers Tours will provide a luxury air conditioned coach for the elders, and Roshantha Sampath from Balloon Team brightly coloured Helium balloons for the event. A Raffle Draw with many attractive prizes is another attraction.
MOU agreement
The Automobile Association of Ceylon entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Fairfirst Insurance to provide a 24-hour breakdown service including towing facilities islandwide to customers who have car insurance policies with Fairfirst Insurance Ltd.
