Get into the groove with Vinyl Revival
View(s):Get your groove back at Park Street Mews next Sunday (September 30) when Hype Events presents Vinyl Revival, a first of its kind get-together of the record community, which will bring back sweet memories of a time when music was more than just antiseptic CDs sound.
“Vinyl Revival aims to create and increase awareness for the vinyl record market. But this is not just a case of selling vinyl records and turntables, but what we are also aiming at is to educate people, especially the younger generation, about the features and advantages of records,” revealed Rashmin Sappideen Wahid, creative director, Hype Events.
More than 10,000 records from the Vinyl Record Community will be on show alongside vintage and state-of-the-art turntables and speakers at The Stables, Park Street Mews.
You will also be able to groove to music played by well-known deejays Tareeq, Doc J, Dom, Chintaka, Pradeep Thomas and Bunty. Harpo, one of the first deejays in Sri Lanka, will also feature in a special guest spot.
“It will be a fun day-long event, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and apart from the superb music there will be games and quizzes and plenty of fun. This is the first time an event like this is being staged as we take a trip down memory lane and show, as well as remind, the public of the beauty of records,” Rashmin added.
It’s time to get into the groove.
