Mei Hasegawa of Japan who won the girls singles title of the ITF Junior Circuit Week 2 tennis tournament continued her top form and is in line to pocket a double at the ITF Junior Circuit Week 3 tennis tournament which is scheduled to come to an end today at the SLTA courts, Greenpath.

Hasegawa has already clinched a doubles title having partnered China’s Yijia Jiao to overcome the Taipei pair Yu Hua Cheng and Chia Yi Tsao in a match that went to the wire which was played in the afternoon session yesterday.

Earlier in the day Hasegawa cruised through to the girls singles final when beat her compatriot Yuna Kadowaki in the semi final. Now Hasegawa will meet Yu Chin Tsai of Taipei who also defeated her compatriot Chia Yi Tsao. Both matches ended in identical winning margins of 2-0.

Meanwhile in the boy’s singles semi final, Jasza Szajrych of Poland — winner of the ITF Junior Circuit Week 2 tournament and Tanapatt Nirundorn of Thailand made it to the final.

Szajrych coasted to an easy 2-0 win against Timothy Phung of USA while Tanapatt was made to work hard for his 2-1 win against Ishan Sethi of India.

In the boys doubles; Taipei pair of Nan Hsun Lin and Kai Shiang Yang clinching the title with a comfortable victory over Tanapatt Nirundorn (Thailand) and Ishan Sethi (India).

The two singles finals are scheduled to be worked off from 8.30 am with Mei Hasegawa (Japan) and Jasza Szajrych (Poland) looking to retain the title that they won in the Week two tournament a fortnight ago.

Boys Singles: Jasza Szajrych (Poland) beat Timothy Ping (USA) 2-0 (6/2, 6/2); Tanapatt Nirundorn (Thailand) beat Ishan Sethi (India) 2-1 (5/7, 6/1, 6/3)
Girls Singles: Mei Hasegawa (Japan) beat Yuna Kadowaki (Japan) 2-0 (6/2, 6/2); Yu Chin Tsai (Taipei) beat Chia Yi Tsao (Taipei) 2-0 (6/2, 6/2).

  •  Finals:

Boys Doubles: Nan Hsun Lin/Kai Shiang Yang (Taipei) beat Subash Paramasivam (India)/ Jasza Szajrych (Poland) 2-0 (6/4, 6/4)
Girls Doubles: Mei Hasegawa (Japan)/Yijia Jiao (China) beat Yu Hua Cheng/Chia Yi Tsao (Taipei) 2-1 (2/6, 6/3, 10/6).
