‘Stale Noobs,’ Ruhuna emerge champions
Creative Software, a pioneer and leader in Sri Lanka’s software industry, launched ‘Creative Sixes’, Sri Lanka’s first ‘IT Cricket encounter’ last week at the Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) grounds. Students of leading universities and institutes got together to have a fun-filled day while fighting side by side in the cricket pitch to win the Creative Sixes Cricket Trophy 2018.
Team ‘Stale Noobs’ of Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna emerged champions, Team ‘Dragons’ of Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) became runners-up and Team ‘Legends’ of Faculty of Information Technology of University of Moratuwa emerged the second runners-up. Sachith Nanayakkara of Team ‘Legends’ was awarded the Best Batsman, Lakshan Kanishka of IIT ‘Dragons’ was awarded the Best Bowler and Nuwan Rathnasiri of Team ‘Stale Noobs’ was the Best Player; they were bestowed with cash prizes and trophies. Every player received a certificate of participation.
Creative Sixes brought together 24 teams from 12 IT faculties and Computing schools of State as well as private universities in Sri Lanka, namely University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Colombo, University of Kelaniya, University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya, University of Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), National School of Business Management (NSBM) Green University Town and Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).
