Kusal, Angelo, Shehan guide LB Finance to fourth win
Mahela Udawatte scored a stylish 82 for MAS Unichela against DIMO
An unbeaten ton by Kusal Mendis and supported by half tons from Angelo Perera and Shehan Jayasuriya laid the foundation for LB Finance to record a convincing 102 runs win over John Keells Holdings in the 26th MCA Premier League cricket tournament match played at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.
The trio’s knocks helped LB Finance taking first lease of the wicket to post a formidable score of 318 for 6 at the end of the first session of proceedings of the match. Later Shehan who ended with a four wicket haul and Shiran Fernando combined to bowl out John Keells Holdings for a score of 216 for LB Finance to record their fourth successive win of the tournament.
DIMO recorded their second successive win of the tournament when they got the better of MAS Unichela by two wickets in the match played at the Colts ground while Teejay Lanka PLC defeated Kanrich Finance by 23 runs on the D/L method played at the FTZ ground in Katunayake to record their first win and Commercial Credit overcame Sampath Bank also on the D/L method by 32 runs in the match played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona.
