MAS Slimline, MAS Unichela emerge champions

The conclusion of the 92nd Men and Women Clifford Cup Boxing Championship at the Royal MSA Arena boxing ring in Reid Avenue saw MAS Slimline BC Pannala and MAS Unichela of Panadura two clusters of MAS Holdings emerge champions in both men’s and women’s categories.
MAS Slimline are winning the title for the eighth consecutive year while MAS Unichela retained their title in the women’s category.
MAS Slimline in winning the title saw them come out victorious in all the five bouts they qualified to the finals while MAS Unichela went one better winning six bouts from the seven that they qualified.
Meanwhile N.M. Hettiarachchi of Army winner of the 69kg welterweight bout was adjudged the best boxer in the men’s category while Anusha Kodituwakku of MAS Unichela was adjudged best in the women’s category. I.D.D. Maduranga and H.S. Priyadharshani two boxers from Army were adjudged the best losers’ in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
