Action at the MCA 'B' division 50-over league cricket tournament
The 2nd ‘Fair & Lovely Men’ – MCA ‘B’ Division 50-Over League Tournament 2019, got off last weekend with a card of 7 matches, with all matches producing results despite rain.
HNB relegated to the 2nd Division, of their own accord, after 25 years, recorded wins against Citizen Development Business (CDB) and Unilever.
Newcomers to this Division, Expolanka Group (Expolanka) lost their first match narrowly to Kanrich Finance (Kanrich) ‘B’ by 1 wicket, but secured their 1st win, beating Commercial Credit (ComCr) ‘B’ by 7 wickets.
The batting and bowling spotlights fell on Devind Pathmanathan of Singer Sri Lanka (Singer), who scored 83 runs vs ComCr and Mohamed Ikram of HNB, who bagged 5/45 vs Unilever and Chandula Weeraratne of Kanrich ‘B’, who bagged 5/41 vs Expolanka.
