Ahalya and Amrith stamp their class
Gents winner Dr. Amunugama
Veteran golfers Ahalya Rajan and Amrith De Soysa won the women’s and men’s segment of the Club Championship 2018 played at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort event which concluded last weekend at their golf course in Digana.
Ahalya, who established records in Digana, has previously won the same event in 2014 in the Ladies’ Net category and the Victoria Bowl (2015 and 2016) Pam Fernando Cup in the 2016. Meanwhile, De Soysa stamped his class at the OCA 18th Asian Games 2018.
Fourteen-year-old Haroon Aslam youngster stamped his class in the Gents Nett category. On earlier occasions, he was the Nett Winner of the 2017 Club Championship 2017, ranked second at the Sri Lanka Junior Golf Union Nationals 2017, emerged the champion of the Mark Bostock event, was the Silver Division winner of the VGCR Junior Championships 2018 and the runner-up in the NDB Junior Master’s event.
