The Greatest Shows
Over 90 children aged 15 years and below, joined hands with the seasoned cast and crew of the Workshop Players to perform in the musical revue,
‘The Greatest Shows – It’s everything you ever want’. Taking place on October 11 – 14, 2018 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, the show featured a combination of music, song and dance sketches, to bring a range of Broadway’s biggest hits to local audiences.
The children’s musical selection comprised the head bang worthy ‘School of Rock’, ‘Annie’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Matilda’ etc. The young thespians made up a major part of the 200+ cast that participated in the revue. From playing a range of instruments live on stage in ‘School of Rock’ to handling three part harmonies and technical dance numbers in ‘Matilda’ and ‘Annie’, these young ladies and gents gave emphasis to Matilda’s famous line, “Even if you are little, you can do a lot!” – -Pix by M.
