Sithara guides Teejay Lanka to victory

An unbeaten ton by Sithara Gimhan paved the way for Teejay Lanka PLC to record a convincing eight wicket win over Sampath Bank in the preliminary round match of the 26th MCA Premier League knockout cricket tournament played at the Colts ground yesterday.
The match curtailed to 44 overs due to late start saw Sithara’s ton helped Teejay Lanka PLC in pursuit of 178 runs for victory to reach the target in just 27 overs.
An unbeaten half ton by Angelo Emmanuel laid the foundation for MAS Silueta to coast to a comfortable 105 runs win over Kanrich Finance in another match of the same tournament played at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa.
Aneglo’s knock enabled MAS Silueta taking first lease of the wicket to make a modest score of 227 for 9 in the 43 overs encounter. Kanrich Finance in their run chase was able to muster a score of only 125 runs.
