Hillwood Kandy Girls perform in Korea
View(s):This annual Folklore Festival held for the 22nd year, has been ranked among the top 10 festivals by the Korean Ministry of Culture, out of over 1,500 such festivals held annually in the country.
Hillwood College Kandy was selected to represent Sri Lanka at this festival. A troupe of 18 dancers participated at this 10-day festival held in the historic city of Andong. There were a total of 14 dance troupes from 13 countries, while hosts Korea had 16 groups with 400 participants and 100 freelance dance troupes with 2,000 dancers.
Vice Principal Asha Vidanapathirana, and Tilak Fernando were Co-Directors of the dance troupe, while Niranjala Thalgahagoda was the Choreographer.
