Lakshitha slams 157 as Nalanda dominate
Lakshitha Rasanjana slammed a career best knock of 157 as Nalanda dominated proceedings to record a comfortable first inning against St.Sebastian’s in their Under-19 Inter-School Cricket encounter concluded at Moratuwa yesterday.

The second day’s play saw Nalanda resuming from their overnight score of 29 for 0 made a mammoth score of 411 for 7. This was in reply to St .Sebastian’s score of 241 made on day one which came on the back of a ton scored by Dunith Jayathunga.
An allround performance by Dilum Sudeera who made an 80 and bagged five wickets and an unbeaten ton by Dimuth Sandaruwan were the highlights of the match between Richmond who had to be satisfied with a first innings against Thurstan in the match which ended at Sooriyawewa.
Richmond ending day one on 185 for 3 went on to add another 85 runs for the loss of one wicket that of overnight batsman Sudeera before declaring with the score reading 270 for 4.
Thurstan in their turn found Dilum Sudeera and Sugeeth Nimnada who shared nine wickets too hot to handle and succumbed for a low score of 89 in an innings in just 28 overs.
Thurstan batting the second time with a deficit of 181 runs was in a bad position as they lost two quick wickets but ended the day on 65 for 4 when bad light stopped play.
Half tons by Kaveesha Jayatilleke and Maheesh Theekshana saw St. Benedict’s resuming from their overnight score of 213 for 5 to make a score of 264 for 8 declared against Zahira in the match played at Kotahena.
Zahira in their turn was bowled out for 107 and made to follow on ended the day on 46 for 5 which ensured an easy first innings win for St .Benedict’s.
