Navod steers Sri Lanka U19 to victory
Navod Paranavithana continued his batting form when he cracked a 62 following his 83 in the previous match to help Sri Lanka U19 record an eight wicket win on the D/L method against the visiting Bangladesh U19 side in the third Youth ODI encounter played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium yesterday.
Rain marred proceedings in the morning session when play was stopped with Bangladesh U19 on 114 for 3 having faced 26.4 overs in an innings curtailed to 45 overs.
On resumption the revised target for the Sri Lanka U19 was 160 runs to be achieved in 25 overs which saw Paranavithana spearheading while useful knocks from skipper Nipun Dhananjaya and Ravindu Rashantha enabled them to reach the target in the 17th over to make it one each in the five match series.
The two teams will play their fourth Youth ODI on November 6 at the CMCC ground in Katunayake formerly known as FTZ ground
