Visakha Vidyalaya earned a triple as they won in all three grades at the Milo Kids Athletics Colombo Zonal Championship held at the Royal College ground in Colombo recently. Visakha girls won the Grade, 3, 4 and 5 categories to come on top among a total of 33 girl and boy schools participated.

Royal College Colombo won in two categories in the boys segment as they emerged champions in Grade 4 and 5. Ananda College won the Grade 3 in boys. A total of 864 young athletes from 33 schools participated in the competition, conducted for Grade 3, 4 and 5 in Boys Girls categories. The event was organised by the Primary Section of Zonal Education Office Colombo.

The Kids Athletics Programme is the physical activity component of the Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme. While the Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme conducts classroom lessons about nutrition, improved diets, healthy cooking, hydration, food safety and hygiene, the Nestlé Kids Athletics Programme holds athletic training and awareness building events across the country, to encourage children to be more physically active. The programmes are endorsed by the Ministry of Education.
