A memorable evening for a good cause

Despite the torrential downpours, the charity show ‘Melodies & Memories Extravaganza & Sing Along’ organised by Dushyantha Abeyegunawardene of Symphony Pvt Ltd. in aid of the Paediatric Ward of the Cancer Hospital had a warm reception with the crowd singing and dancing to the favourite songs of yesteryear. The show was held on October 6 at the BMICH.
Sohan & the X-periments with guest stars Judy & Sureshni kept the crowd thoroughly entertained with the hits of Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Connie Francis not to mention well loved Sinhala songs and Bailas. Mahesh Munasinghe, Chairman, Managing Director of Premier International Stationers contributed to the cause by printing the tickets and the songbook free of charge.
The proceeds of the show -Rs. 450,000 was donated for medical equipment for the Paediatric ward of the Cancer Hospital, Maharagama. (see pic above)
