Zahira Matale clinches Golden Star Hockey award
View(s):Competing in boys Group ‘D’ Zahira College Matale led by Fizal Muzain remained unbeaten with three comprehensive wins in their group fixtures to clinch the Golden Star award for the fourth consecutive year at the 18th Sri Lanka Schools Junior Hockey Carnival 2018 for Under-14 boys and girls concluded on Wednesday at the Vincent Dias stadium in Badulla.

Matale Zahirians (M. Umair 1) beat Mahinda College Galle 1-0, they (A. Ahamed 1 and H. Aaqmal 1) beat Dharmaraja College Kandy 2-0 and then outplayed St. Thomas’ College Matara 2-0 as A. Ahamed and M. Umair scored a goal each. The team was coached by J.M. Rifas.
