Gateway College had yet another successful year in Chess when they secured two Age Group Championships — Under-19 and Under-12 — and became runner-up in two other Age Groups — Under-16 and Under-14 — at the recently concluded Inter-International School Chess Championship. The competition organised by the Regent International School – Gampaha in which over 700 players in 6 age groups participated, nine Gateway students won Board Prizes. They included Brijeash Saravanabavan, Nabil Nazar, Kulisa Nanayakkara, DanukaWijegoonaratne, Hevidu Samarakoon, Ravija Gunawardane, Roshan Anandasaravanan, Dulain Perera and Gajitha Nanayakkara.
