NSBM Career Fair – 2018 concluded successfully
View(s):NSBM Green University Town held its Career Fair – 2018 on 1st and 2nd December at NSBM Green University Town, Homagama. The fair facilitated links between over 51 leading companies with above 1,500 graduates and undergraduates of NSBM over the two days for their entry-level employment and internship opportunities.
The Career Fair was organized to support graduates of the School of Business, School of Computing and School of Engineering of NSBM who are graduating in December 2018 and are therefore, considering employment. In addition, undergraduates of NSBM who are searching for internships also attended the Career Fair.
Companies seeking candidates for entry-level employment and internships / training opportunities conducted walk-in interviews at the fair. Successful candidates received their letters of appointment at the Career Fair itself. London Stock Exchange Group and Virtusa were the Gold sponsors for the Career Fair and Vision Care Optical Services and Cloud Solutions International were the Silver sponsors while BDO Partners, SimCentric Technologies, Cambio Software Engineering, Hemas Manufacturing, Zone24x7, Calcey Technologies, IFS R&D International, Omobio, Creative Software, Ceylon Biscuits Limited, Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and Codegen International joined the event as Bronze sponsors.
Chairman of NSBM Green University Town, Mr. Deepthi Lamahewa declared opened the NSBM Career Fair in the presence of Dean School of Business – Ms. Thilini De Silva, Head of School of Computing – Dr. Prabath Weerasinghe, Head of School of Business – Mr. Lahiru Gunesekara, Head of Marketing – Mr. Chiranjeewa Atapattu, Manager Career Guidance – Mr. Kapila Liyanage and Senior Lecturer – Mr. Naji Saravanabavan and Senior Academic Staff of NSBM Green University. Representatives of the sponsoring organizations were also present at the opening ceremony.
The sponsors of the event were awarded with tokens of appreciation by Mr. Deepthi Lamahewa, Chairman of NSBM Green University Town, appreciating their contribution to the event and the team visited the Career Fair stalls subsequently.
