It was a double launch on November 6 – the ‘Traditional Sri Lankan First Aid Box’ and the ‘Hela Veda Ath Potha’.The Traditional Sri Lankan First Aid Box has been produced by traditional medical practitioner, Palitha S.G. Arachchige, while the Hela Veda Ath Potha authored by him is a Dilmah Conservation publication.

Among the 12 items presented in the beautifully-crafted first aid box are:
Sarvavishaadhee Thailaya – to be heated and applied on insect bites, thorn pricks and blisters.
Pinda Thailaya – to be applied on cracked hands, legs and heels, areas where there is peeling of skin.

Nilyadhi Thailaya – while used for oiling of hair, it can also be applied for headache and over sprains and bruises.
Sidhdhartha Thailaya – application for body aches.
Meanwhile, the Hela Veda Ath Potha with colourful illustrations has detailed many ailments and how to deal with them under traditional medicine.
