The Hut returns as a music lounge
Back in the 90’s, the Little Hut at the Mount Lavinia Hotel was the spot to celebrate the end of a hectic week. The electric music, retro-vibes and pulsating atmosphere had everyone who was in the know dancing their cares away. Now moving forward to a new era, Mount Lavinia Hotel has handed over the management of the Little Hut to Elite Promotions & Events (Private) Ltd, an affiliate of the Ideal Group of Companies.
Chairman of Elite Promotions & Events (Private) Ltd Richard De Zoysa, Group Finance Director of Ideal Group of Companies Dilani Yatawaka and Mount Lavinia Manager of Corporate Communications & Business Development Imasha Dahanayake spearheaded the press conference held announcing the re-launch of The Hut as it is to be known from December 6.
Presenting a more relaxed take on evening entertainment, The Hut draws on the concept of a music lounge rather than a nightclub. The Hut will be open Tuesday through Sunday with live music performances starting at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays will be reserved for the smooth sounds of jazz music. The Sunset Bar which opens at 5.30 p.m. will help guests unwind after a long day.
Sherriden and the Sunset Band, Wildfire and Mirage are the bands you can look forward to at the lounge. Two talented home-grown female musicians will join the bands to perform as well. The performances will be accompanied by a Video DJ and the management also aims to have a live concert at least once a month. For a more private setting, The Hut offers their space dubbed ‘The Board Room’ for business meetings and intimate gatherings. With Mount Lavinia Hotel, The Hut is also looking to host corporate functions with their curation of music, food and beverages. Entrance fee for non-members is Rs. 1000 with ladies walking in free. There will be no entrance fee for members who will also enjoy other
privileges.
