with first innings points

Chilaw Marians batsman Harsha Cooray drives this one for a boundary during his innings of 48 against NCC.

Tamil Union allrounder Lahiru Milantha (103 and 4 for 33) helped his club come up with strong reply of 209 for 2 at the end of the second day of their Premier League Division ‘A’ encounter at the P. Oval yesterday.

Facing a daunting Army total of 386 all out made by the Soldiers on a day that a plenty of runs were scored, the Tamil Union openers Milantha and Sithara Gimhan (93) thus staked a strong claim.

The two Tamil Union wickets were bagged by medium pacer LL Madusanka who finished the day with 2 for 54.

M.A.S. Jayatilleke scored a grand knock of 114 and thus guided the Ragama CC to a good first innings win against much fancied Moors SC at Braybrooke Place.  With the aid of Jayatilleke’s ‘ton’ that contained eleven fours and seven sixes Ragama CC ended the second day’s play on 338 for 6 in replay to Moors total of 337.

The Nondescript Cricket Club also have already obtained first innings points.  NCC scored 321 runs in their first innings and followed it up with 117 for 2 in their second innings while the Chilaw Marians were able muster a total of 193 all out in 62.5 overs.
