SLIC successfully concluded ‘Call to Donate’ CSR initiative
View(s):The ‘Call to Donate’ a CSR initiative by Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) concluded recently with immense success getting more than 480,000 missed calls from generous Sri Lankans.
SLIC launched the ‘Call to Donate’ campaign on November 1 as the third phase of this annual initiative. The campaign was launched in aid of raising awareness about the cancer and donating funds to the Pediatric ward of Apeksha Cancer Hospital Maharagama.
In a media release, SLIC said it launched this campaign with a promise to donate Rs.10 for each missed call given to 1375, and serving the purpose SLIC is donating Rs.5 million to build an isolation room for the Pediatric ward at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital with all facilities required.
Since 2015, the ‘Call to Donate’ has inspired people to be compassionate about those who are affected by this terminal illness and to create awareness about the increasing threat of cancer by becoming a part of this cause.
Through the previous call to donate projects, SLIC was able to purchase a much needed C Pap Machine, Essential Medicine and Prosthesis Limbs for Maharagama Apeksha Hospital in 2015 and 2016.
